Crime Prevention provides education, support and innovative programs to help prevent crime.

Crime Prevention Programs:

40 Dev40 Developmental Assetselopmental Assets - The Search Institute describes these assets as 40 common sense, positive experiences and qualities that help young people become caring, responsible, successful adults. Grande Prairie Crime Prevention supports this approach to positive youth                          development.

Agent ProgramAGENT Program - Allows business owners to give authority to RCMP members to act as "Agents" for the property, which in turn gives RCMP members the authority to act on behalf of the owner.

Bullying Web IconBullying Bylaw Initiative - This bylaw holds bullies accountable for their behaviour and gives them support and resources to resolve their pattern of bullying.

CYIP Web IconChild & Youth Intervention Program - Having problems with your child or teen?   The Child & Youth Intervention  Program offers support to families with kids who are struggling.

Conversation Cafes Web IconConversation Café - Neighbourhood Conversation Cafés are brainstorming sessions involving members of the Grande Prairie community to help build a friendly and safe community. We discuss some of Grande Prairie's crime-related problems and possible solutions.
Crime Prevention Academy - A series of seven sessions provided on a monthly basis to community members on a number of topics. Participants who attend all seven sessions are provided with a certificate of attendance.

If you, your family or friends are looking for information about such topics as drug abuse, family violence, bullying, or parenting, we have a variety of resources to lend you. 
Sasafety auditfety Audits - Businesses, neighbourhood associations and not for profit groups can request a Safety Audit to receive an assessment and recommendations to improve to their site which will assist in making their areas feel safer and more connected.
Wrapped Utility Box - SwanUtility Box Beautification Program - The goal of this program is to deter graffiti and beautify the community while showcasing local artists.
