At The Kids Place, we have always strived to create an environment that promotes development through play, giving children the opportunity to demonstrate confidence in their own emotional, social, creative, cognitive and physical abilities. For our 2016-2017 registrations, we have created four new innovative and unique pre-school programs that will have different themes and will be age appropriate. Students will achieve Kids Place goals in any of the four programs but each individual program will also have its own specific focus or theme.
Our main goals for our Kids Place programs are:
• Help the children adjust to new situations and class rules
• Teach the children ways to express their needs and to listen to the ideas of their peers
• Teach the children values like respect, honesty, and how to share, take turns, negotiate and compromise as well as to how to express feelings in a positive manner
• Prepare children for kindergarten
Every classroom will have the following centres:
• Dramatic play & instruments
• Quiet area
• Manipulative toys (for a table)
• Block centre
• Science centre
• Floor play toys
• Art centre
• Water and sand centre
• Sensory centre or activities

Monday / Wednesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Hop on our Kids Place plane and let’s go around the world! Children will be given a play passport at the beginning of the program so that they get a stamp every time they will learn about a new country. A new country will be introduced every month and they will learn the most important aspects about the specific country of the month. We will do crafts, play games, set up centres, and bring toys related to that country.
Monday / Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
UNLEASH YOUR CREATIVITY! This program is driven by the imagination and curiosity of the children, with a belief that children’s work is play-based and connected to things that are relevant and meaningful in their lives.
This program will help children gain an appreciation for arts and crafts.
Tuesday / Thursdays mornings from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Pre-writing skills are the fundamental skills children need to develop before they are able to write and ready. We will work on fine motor strength, pincer grasp, eye-hand coordination, “word families”, phonics and “dolch words”.
The most important aspect about this program is that your child will learn the basics of reading and writing without pressure and stress so that they are ready for the next step!
Tuesday / Thursdays afternoons from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Based on the STEM philosophy, “Logic and Fun” encourages children to explore, discover and engage in critical thinking. STEM is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Early exposure to the STEM philosophy supports children’s overall academic growth, develops early critical thinking and reasoning skills, and enhances later interest in STEM study and careers.
We want your child to look forward to coming to our programs and enjoy every day like it was the first day of classes! This is why we do not have any programs running on Fridays. Our staff will spend Fridays sanitizing their rooms, bringing new toys in the room, rearranging their centres and working on their written weekly plan so that we can provide an excellent service for your child.
