Leadership is the cornerstone of our success and it exists at all levels of our organization. Leadership Development is high on our priority list. Our “flat” organizational structure, values-driven culture and belief in a “leader-full” workplace means that employees are expected to think, contribute their ideas and assist in solving problems that are normally considered management decisions.

We grow our leaders and support their development. One of the first for municipalities, our internal Leadership Institute certificate, grows leaders from within our organization. Our Leadership Network Group meets quarterly to learn, network and support each other with common issues.

Our Succession Planning initiative encourages employees to “grow” their careers at The City of Grande Prairie.
