The Montrose Cultural Centre is the City of Grande Prairie's latest Cultural Destination! The beautiful 101,442 square foot facility is located in the heart of Grande Prairie
The Montrose site was once part of the Rev. Forbes land grant and received its name after Mrs. Forbes birthplace in Scotland. Today the Montrose Cultural Centre (9839 103 Ave.) aims to build on Grande Prairie's heritage and cultural background by creating a hub for arts and culture in the region.
The west-end of the Montrose Cultural Centre features a restored brick wall that once served as the entrance to the original Grande Prairie High School and is now home to the stunning Art Gallery of Grande Prairie. Inside you’ll also find the spacious, modern Grande Prairie Public Library and a welcoming, tasty Esquires Coffee House with adjacent outdoor patio. The south-side features the bright, beautiful Teresa Sargent Hall which is available for both private and public events, wedding ceremonies and more.
Recent construction on the south-side concourse created additional outdoor patio space and a public concourse (Opening Spring 2017).
The Montrose Cultural Centre is open 7 days a week, year-round and admission is always FREE! (excluding some statutory holidays)
