Q: I lost something on the bus – what do I do?
A:

If you are able, go back to the same bus stop one hour later and ask the driver to check the bus for you. Items lost on the bus will be brought in after the shift and will be accessible the next working day. Please call the Citizen Contact Centre Info line at 780-538-0300, to see if we have received your item.

Q: What time does Transit Service start in the mornings?
A:
Service starts at 5:50am Monday through Friday, 8:30am on Saturday and 9:00am on Sundays.
Q: How do I advertise on the bus?
A:

Bus Bench Promotions is the contractor for all external bus advertising, including bus benches, transit shelters and recycling containers. Call 780-539-6555 to advertise!

You can also call the Citizen Contact Centre at 780-538-0300 to place an order for internal ads.

Eligible for Class Pass (please see "Class Pass" FAQ)
Transit Buses seat up to 37 and 18 standing on average
No guarantees on number of available seats during regular Transit Service Hours
Classes over 30 students may have to divide into smaller groups for accommodation - dependent on driver discretion
A Charter may be considered for groups over 30 students

Q: What is a Class Pass?
A:
The class pass is only for schools and certified Daycares/homes – regular transit users will not classify for this. 
Eligible Schools and Daycares/homes dependent on age group will get a discount at the following prices: 

Ages 0 - 6, Daycare/home, $0.35/child  

Elementary School Student Fare, $0.35/student
Junior High School Student Fare, $0.60/student

Q: What time does the last bus leave downtown in the evening?
A:

The last bus leaving downtown is at 10:15pm Monday through Saturday and 4:15pm on Sundays, dependent on the Route.

Q: How long are transfers good for?
A:
Transfers are valid for 90 minutes after the time they are torn.
Q: Can I use a transfer more then once?
A:

Absolutely! Just show your transfer to the driver as you enter the bus. Transfers are still only valid for 90 minutes after being torn.

Q: I use a wheelchair and I want to ride transit but I need help.
A:

Transit drivers can offer some assistance. For example, drivers lower the bus, extend the ramp, lift the seat and assist with securing the belt. You will have to manoeuvre your chair and use the securement systems. If you require extra assistance we advise to travel with a companion - the companion will have to pay the appropriate transit fare.

The Transit Office is located in the City Service Centre at 9505 - 112 Street, which is on Route 4 in the Richmond Industrial Park.

Q: I found something on the bus – what do I do with it?
A:
If you find someone else’s property on the bus, please give it to the bus driver. We would greatly appreciate it!
Q: Are animals allowed on buses?
A:
Companion dogs are allowed on the buses. Small pets in a proper carrier are allowed.
Q: Who can ride the bus free?
A:

Persons showing a Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) National card ride free. Persons who receive Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) can receive free passes at City Hall.

Q: If I receive Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) how do I get my free pass?
A:

Passes for the upcoming month are available AFTER the 15th day of the current month (e.g. to apply for a January pass, apply after December 15th.) Passes are available at ONE LOCATION ONLY - Cashier, First Floor, Grande Prairie City Hall, 10205 - 98 Street. (Open 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.) You must present the following information to receive a pass: your name, Medical Services Card number, and one other type of identification.
