gang clothing signWhat is the No Gang Colours Program?

This program is meant to show that criminal gangs are not welcome in our community.

The No Gang Colour Program is an extension of the popular “No Shirt – No Shoes – No Service” program. It is based on the fundamental right that property owners can deny access to people who do not comply with an established dress code.

Authority to Prohibit the Wearing of Criminal Gang Colours/Criminal Gang Clothing in a Premise is provided under the Provincial Trespass to Property Act and Petty Trespass Act.

No Gang Colours Program Signs

All City facilities have signs posted by their entrances that say no criminal gang clothing or colours is permitted inside.

This is a voluntary initiative available to all businesses. If you would like a sign like this to post at the entrance of  your business, applications can be made through Crime Prevention.

The business owners also receive information on their rights to to request assistance to deal with people who disobey the dress code.
