What to Expect:

Participants learn about Peace Country artists with examples of artwork from the South Peace Regional Archives. Through guided instruction, participants learn a variety of acrylic painting techniques to apply to their final work of art that they create during the program. Their artwork’s content takes inspiration from the Grande Prairie Museum’s gallery and exhibits. Alternatively, participants have the opportunity to paint over copies of historical black and white photographs provided by the South Peace Regional Archives to give them a new context.

* Drop-off Programs:

Programs that do not require parents or guardians to remain with the children in their care for the duration of the program. During a drop-off program, the Programming & Events Coordinator(s) of the Culture & Heritage Department are responsible for the welfare of the children.

For a child to be able to attend one of these programs, a parent or guardian must fill out a registration form, photo & video release form, and review the parent handbook. These are forwarded by email when you register your child or can be picked up at the Grande Prairie Museum.
