Universal Children’s Day is an annual event on November 20 to celebrate children’s rights. The commemorative day was declared by the United Nation in 1954 and marks the anniversary of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is an opportunity for families, businesses and government to advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights in an effort to build thriving communities and bright futures for our children.
Grande Prairie recognizes this important day in history by welcoming families to come into the Eastlink Centre Fieldhouse for an afternoon of children's games and activities.
Anyone looking to support the event through door prize donations is asked to contact Hayley Kramps, Programming and Events Supervisor, Dave Barr Community Centre at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 780-357-8728.
