Posted Date: 8/4/2017
The City of Grande Prairie’s Culture and Heritage Department is putting forward a report to support a business case for the proposed Grande Prairie Regional Performing and Media Arts Centre (PMAC) during the regularly scheduled Community Living meeting on Tuesday, Aug 8 at 2 p.m. in City Hall (10205 98 St.). pmac cover

The report includes a request for a $200,000 capital budget referral to the fall 2018 budget review to undertake a business case for the proposed facility. The business case would address a number of areas including; architecture, cost consulting, risk management and project management. Completion of this phase of the project would provide information to City Council for consideration to support long-term decisions around capital budget investment, to build a regional performing and media arts centre on the ourMontrose site, located at 9839 103 Ave.

Community Living Committee will hear the outcomes of the feasibility study completed by Stantec, which includes an updated needs assessment, functional program highlights, concept design drawings, and financial assessments. The implementation strategy found within the report also includes the potential impacts on other venues, a recommendation for City of Grande Prairie governance and the potential economic impacts of developing and operating a regional performing and media arts centre.

The Grande Prairie Regional Performing and Media Arts Centre Feasibility Study is available now on our website at cityofgp.com/MCC.
