Farmer’s Market Access
Posted Date: 8/24/2017
A representative from the City of Grande Prairie spoke with the manager of the Farmer’s Market on August 23 at approximately 5:15 p.m. to understand their concerns.

The concerns raised by the Farmer’s Market were related to pedestrian access, delivery truck access, and parking lot access east of the Farmer’s Market.

On August 23, access to the east parking lot was restricted as ATCO Electric was installing electrical connections to a transformer in the alley located north of 101 Avenue between 101 Street and 100 Street.

The City has taken steps to resolve the concerns raised by the Farmer’s Market. Yesterday, the fence restricting the east parking lot was moved and partial access was restored. The City and the contractor are actively monitoring the area to maintain partial access and minimize disruptions at this location.

Representatives from the City, the consultant, and the contractor for the Downtown Rehabilitation Project continue to work closely with businesses for the duration of the project to ensure concerns continue to be addressed in a timely fashion.

The City understands the impact of construction on businesses in the area and thanks them for their continued co-operation and patience throughout construction.
