Changes to the Driveway Windrow Clearing Program


The City of Grande Prairie offers the Driveway Windrow Clearing Program to residents that are disabled or meet certain criteria and need assistance clearing their snow windrows.


Residents who live on priority one and two snow clearing routes will not need to be on the program, as they will not have a windrow placed in their driveway.

This year we will be Introducing the Green Pylon Project to designate a residence as part of the Driveway Windrow Clearing Program. Your registered Green Pylon will correspond with your address.

How to apply:

To apply for the program please fill out an application at the City Service Centre, 9505 112 St. Pylons will be distributed after October 15th.

If you have already applied for the program in previous years, please call the Citizen Contact Centre at 780-538-0300 to confirm you still require assistance. Your Green Pylon will be delivered to your address before the end of October.

How does it work?

Your snow clearing day will be the day before your garbage day, when residential snow clearing is initiated by the City. On your snow-clearing day, before 8:00 a.m. place your Green Pylon, in your driveway, 1.5 meters (5 ft.) from the curb and ensure visibility. Once the windrow has been removed, please bring your pylon in, as you would with your Aquatera garbage can.
