Bear Creek North Area Structure Plan

Bear Creek Structure Plan

The City of Grande Prairie and ISL Engineering and Land Services Ltd. are initiating work on the preparation of an Area Structure Plan (ASP) for lands lying north of the Grande Prairie Airport and west of 116 Street.

The City of Grande Prairie intends that the ASP provides a framework to guide long-term planning and future development of the area, which includes Bear Creek, a significant environmental asset. Existing residential, agricultural and recreational land uses are an integral part of the plan area, and an important consideration in the planning process for the ASP. The goal is to create an ASP that allows existing uses and future residential and industrial/commercial development to co-exist in a compatible way. It is anticipated that the ASP will take approximately one year to complete.

The City and ISL are hosting engagement events for area landowners, residents and other stakeholders during the month of December.

The general public are invited to attend a public open house (come-and-go format – no RSVP required) on:

Date: Thursday, December 7, 2017
Time: 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Place: Country Roads RV Park (Old Barn Hall) 63061A Township Road 722, Grande Prairie

The purpose of this engagement session is to learn more about the project and to view preliminary feedback gathered from area landowners and stakeholders at previous events. A short presentation about the project will occur 6 p.m. during the open house.

Feedback gathered during these events will help inform and shape the creation of the vision, guiding principles and future land use concept for the Plan area.
