Downtown Rehab Phase 3 Construction Tender Released
Posted Date: 1/26/2018

Qualified parties may now bid on a tender for the construction of phase 3 of The City of Grande Prairie’s Downtown Rehabilitation Project. The tender will close on March 6, 2018.

Phase 3 of the Downtown Rehab Project encompasses 100 Avenue between 100 Street and 102 Street and will include underground infrastructure upgrades and the rehabilitation of streetscapes elements.

Based on the results of the tender process, phase 3 construction is anticipated to begin in May of 2018 with a scheduled October 2018 completion.

The release of the tender in January is one of many steps taken by the project team to enable construction to start as early in the year as possible. Next steps include the award of the tender and administration working with the successful proponent to prepare for construction.

Background

The Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project is a multi-phase initiative designed to create a modern, revitalized downtown through infrastructure upgrades and an updated streetscape design.

The design of phase 3 and 4 was awarded to ISL Engineering and Land Services on April 3, 2017. City Council approved funding for phase 3 construction as part of the budget deliberations that took place in November 2017.
