Daily Snow Removal Updates - November 13-16, 2018

November 16, 2018

  • Crews are clearing snow from priority 1. They will begin clearing priority 2 routes once priority 1 routes are plowed.

  • Crews are implementing ice control on priority 1 and 2 routes on an ongoing basis.
  • A round of residential snow removal is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 19. Crews will be in the neighbourhoods of:
    • VLA / Montrose
    • Mountview (includes Summit)
    • Hillside 
    • Crystal Heights
    • Ivy Lake
    • Crystal Landing
  • Residents in these neighbourhoods are asked to ensure vehicles are removed from the roadside on Monday November 19 to ensure crews may plow snow in a safe and efficient manner.

  • A parking ban on priority 1 and 2 routes is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 19 to ensure crews can clear the remainder of these roads safely and efficiently. 

November 15, 2018

  • Update, 2:30 p.m.: Crews began plowing priority 1 and 2 routes today. They are also sanding/salting these routes. 
  • With a snowfall warning in effect, transportation services crews are prepared to respond. The volume of snowfall, temperature, and overall forecast will determine if a round of residential snow clearing will be initiated. 
  • Crews are monitoring and implementing ice control on priority 1 and 2 routes. Residents may send online requests for ice control on SeeClickFix.
  • Windrow pick-up on priority 2 is complete. Some snow clearing remains in priority 3 routes. 
  • Sidewalk and trail clearing continues to take place. 
  • Residential snow clearing is not initiated and parking bans are not in place. 

November 14, 2018

  • Crews continue to pick-up windrows on priority 2 routes. 
  • Crews continue to clear priority 3 routes. 
  • Sanding crews continue to monitor and implement ice control on priority 1 and 2 routes. They are also responding to calls of particularly icy patches on priority 3 routes and in residential areas.
  • Crews continue to clear sidewalks and trails within the City. 
  • Parking bans are lifted as of today. 
  • Residential snow removal is not initiated. 

November 13, 2018

  • Windrow pick up continues on priority 2 routes. 
  • Crews continue to clear priority 3 routes.
  • Sanding crews are monitoring priority 1 and 2 routes. They are also moving into some particularly icy residential areas to implement ice control.
  • Sidewalks and trails continue to be cleared.
  • Parking bans are still in effect and residential snow clearing is not initiated.
