Emergency Preparedness Week

Ald. Lorne Radbourne, Chair of the Protective Services Committee, brought greetings on behalf of Mayor Dwight Logan and Council Sunday at the launch of Emergency Preparedness Week (May 4-10) at the Grande Prairie Museum. 


Other speakers included County of Grande Prairie Reeve Everett McDonald, Barry Johanneson, Grande Prairie District Manager of ATCO Gas, and Sam Drader, a City Alderman between 1983 and 1992, a former police chief in two communities and one-time director of the Youth Assessment Centre.  The event introduced an Emergency Preparedness Guide produced in partnership by the City of Grande Prairie, the County of Grande Prairie, the Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership, the towns of Sexsmith, Wembley and Beaverlodge, the Village of Hythe, Peace Country Health, and ATCO Gas, ATCO Electric. Copies are available at area municipal offices, Peace Country Health, and ATCO.
