Muskoseepi Pavilion and Pool Evacuated
Parents are advised not to drop their children off to the Muskoseepi Park Pavilion and Pool area today as the area has been evacuated due to a chlorine leak being detected this morning.
The cholorine was detected at 9 a.m. in the pool building. The chemical was contained and no injuries were reported.
Readings were done in a 60-metre area around the building and no amount was detected in the area.
The City’s Emergency Operations Centre was activated to co-ordinate response. The Fire Department responded with a command unit, the HazMat unit, a pump unit and 11 firefighters. RCMP and Emergency Services staff also responded.
The public will be notified when the operations at the pavilion and pool resume.
