Up For The Challenge

Thursday, May 29, 2008 8:44:00 AM

Grande Prairie recorded a 28 per cent participation rate in the May 22 Alberta Active Living Challenge Day, with 14,218 people registering their activity. That means the City once again outdistanced Red Deer on a per capita basis once again in our annual competition. Grande Prairie has outdistanced Red Deer in the level of participation four years in a row.

Among those participating were 25 City of Grande Prairie representatives, including Ald. Elroy Deimert, centre right, with Hillside School principal Guy Spencer. Students and staff from that school walked to City Hall with their activity scroll. The City delegation then relayed the scroll to Hillcrest Christian School.  The scroll then carried on to Avondale School, Grande Prairie Regional College, Q99 and Kateri Mission School.
