New 68th Ave. Lights Fully Operational

Monday, November 10, 2008 10:00:00 AM

New traffic lights installed on 68th Ave. at Countryside will go into use starting Wednesday, Nov. 12.

The lights, part of the road widening project along that section of 68th Ave., are flashing red at the four-way stop in the interim.

The rail crossing just to the west will be upgraded next spring to handle heavier traffic volumes, with the rail warning system, lights and bells, going into operation during the winter.

“We thank the public for its patience during construction of this major crossing and intersection,” says Steve Kay, Project Engineer. “Noticeably smoother traffic flow will result from this project, which was needed with the increase in east-west volumes over recent years.”
