From left, Mayor Dwight Logan and Ald. Bill Given welcomed Marcelo da Luz (far right) to Grande Prairie on Saturday. The Toronto resident is attempting a world distance record attempt by driving from Buffalo, N.Y. to Inuvik, N.W.T and back in a solar-powered car that he built himself.  In the process, da Luz is promoting the use of clean and sustainable energy through the project called The Power of One. Also shown in the photo are volunteers Carrie McKellar of Vancouver, Moritz Noster from Göttiugen, Germany, and Tippy Agogo from Edmonton.
