First Town Hall Meeting Scheduled

The first in a series of Town Hall Meetings planned by the City of Grande Prairie is set for Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Golden Age Centre.
“I am delighted to see this initiative get underway,” says Mayor Dwight Logan. “This first meeting will be in a central location and others are going to be held in schools and community facilities in neighbourhoods across the City.”
The session begins at 7 p.m. and refreshments will be provided.
“These will be informal get-togethers with the public,” says Mayor Logan. “There will not be a set agenda of topics that Council and Administration want to speak about. Instead, we want Grande Prairie residents to come forward with their ideas on how to improve the community or with questions and concerns about municipal programs, services and infrastructure.
“It is their community and we want to work with residents to make Grande Prairie an even better place to live, work and play as we look ahead to our next 50 years as a City.”
The City of Grande Prairie plans to have up to three Town Hall Meetings annually to improve communication with residents.
