Fire Safety Plans

Prior to the commencement of construction, alteration or demolition operations, a Fire Safety Plan shall be prepared for the site, approved by the Fire Department and must be posted on site.

A Fire Safety Plan establishes minimum requirements that will provide a reasonable degree of life safety from fire and similar emergencies. Plans must comply with the National Fire Code - Alberta Edition, National Building Code - Alberta Edition, and other applicable laws and regulations.

Please see Who needs a Fire Safety Plan for more information.

Should you have any questions or concerns in meeting compliance requirements, contact the GPFD Fire Prevention Branch at 780-538-0400.
