The City of Grande Prairie is committed to maintaining snow clearing services, while ensuring the safety of all road users and our crews, as well as preserving the integrity of heavy-duty equipment.

During times of extreme cold, such as Grande Prairie is currently experiencing, equipment requires additional care and maintenance to ensure proper function of hydraulic components of the equipment. It is for this reason only critical services are currently being conducted, such as maintenance of the priority 1 and 2 road network.

The current rotation of the residential snow clearing program has been paused and an update will be provided to the public when the full residential snow clearing rotation restarts.

The City of Grande Prairie strives to ensure safety of the road network and would like to remind residents to travel with caution and slow down, as ice control measures such as sand and salt are less effective.
