Applications for Large Scale Tourism Events Funding are being accepted until Saturday, February 1.
The funding is available for festivals and sporting events that have a tourism draw of 100 kilometres or greater, resulting in at least 35% of attendance by visitors to our community. Events must provide a unique audience and/or participant experience and can result in a significant economic and/or tourism benefit to Grande Prairie.
To be considered for the funding, applicants must be a non-profit organization hosting a ticketed, multi-day, rain-or-shine event with an attendance of greater than 2000 people per day within the City of Grande Prairie or County of Grande Prairie. A budget, business plan and marketing plan must be submitted with the application to demonstrate quality and sustainability of the event.

The purpose of the Large Scale Tourism Events Funding is to encourage exciting and vibrant events in our community that promote diverse culture, celebration of heritage and advancement of sport. It is offered in an effort to grow tourism to Grande Prairie, encourage volunteerism among residents, provide a safe and vibrant community and attract people to our city.
