The 25 metre pool at Eastlink Centre is being temporarily shut down due to a contamination of the bacteria pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Eastlink Centre is reminding all pool patrons that they must have a full body hot shower with soap in the change room before entering the pool. Lifeguards may refuse entry to patrons not willing to comply with shower requirements.

Staff are working to determine contributing factors and taking steps to prevent further contamination.

All Aquatics programming will be relocated to other areas of the aquatics facility and continue to run as normal.

An announcement will be made about re-opening once water testing passes inspection by Alberta Health Services regulation.
