The Grande Prairie Outdoor Pool is wrapping up its 2019 summer swim season on Sunday, September 15.

The outdoor pool re-opened the newly renovated facility on August 24.

Warmer temperatures over the past week have encouraged strong attendance, with the pool reaching capacity twice on Labour Day. Typically, the pool sees between 50-150 swimmers throughout various times of the day.

“We’ve been happy for the warmer temperatures given the time of year, and when the sun is shining so are the people swimming in the pool,” says Meghan Monette, Aquatics Manager. “It has been a short but strong swim season this summer, and we are pleased to see all the smiles, high fives and returning faces as people enjoy the facility!”

Starting Monday, September 9 the pool is modifying its hours to 3:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. on weekdays, and 12:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. on weekends.

The spray parks at Lion’s Park and Muskoseepi Park are also shutting down on Monday, September 9.
