About the Festival

The City of Grande Prairie in partnership with the Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association are proud to host the Grande North Winter Festival, a walkable winter festival downtown to showcase the city and create a unique experience centered around ice and snow, to embrace the northern winters, provide residents an event to look forward to during this season, and encourage community connection.

Grande North strives to be accessible to all residents in some capacity and include a combination of paid admission and free, family-centered activities.

The festival aims to establish an annual draw to our downtown core, encouraging tourism while stimulating local businesses and organizations. Grande North is an opportunity with endless potential for Grande Prairie to help facilitate the development of one of the best winter festivals in western Canada, supporting and bolstering economic growth and tourism in the region.

The event is sponsored by the Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association and funded by the partners of the Destination Marketing Fee.
