The Grande Prairie Museum, Heritage Village and the Heritage Discovery Centre are re-opening to the public on Tuesday, June 15 in alignment with Stage 2 of Alberta’s Open for Summer Plan.

Each venue looks forward to welcoming the community back to enjoy their showcases, exhibits and artifacts including the following new exhibits:

  • “Recycling: Then & Now” at the Grande Prairie Museum
  • “And They’re Off: A History of Sport in Grande Prairie” at the Heritage Discovery Centre

The Heritage Village has additionally opened up new areas at the Tempest House, including the upstairs bedroom and a new laundry room created on the first floor.

Hours of operation

The Grande Prairie Museum and Heritage Village will be open Tuesday to Friday from  11 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.,  and weekends from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Heritage Discovery Centre at Centre 2000 will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday.

Pre-bookings are no longer required for any of the facilities.

All provincial health orders remain in place at each location including mandatory face masks, physical distancing and capacity limitations.
