Knelsen Sand & Gravel Ltd. will begin working in the Brochu Industrial Park area on Tuesday, June 19 and will continue through the month of July as part of the 2018 Road Rehabilitation Program.
Work will be performed on:
- 101 Avenue
- 104 Avenue
- 106 Avenue
- 121 Street
- 123 Street
The road work consists of repairing the existing road structure through a full depth reclamation (FDR) to ensure the road is able to handle current and future traffic volumes. Crews will also be performing some landscaping and concrete installations.
Traffic delays should be expected as the road will be reduce to one lane and the speed limit will be down to 30km/h around construction areas. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes whenever possible.
FDR consists of pulverizing the existing road pavement and mixing it into the granular base structure. Cement and foamed asphalt is mixed into the structure and compacted and then a new asphalt pavement structure is placed on top.
