Plant insects cause the majority of damage to City trees, shrubs and flowers. They move in cycles of infestation and are often controlled through natural predators after a few years.
The City conducts regular monitoring programs for known problem insects such as mosquitoes, yellow-headed spruce sawfly and forest tent caterpillar. Other insect pests are more unpredictable and we respond to them as infestations occur.
Not All Bugs Are Bad!
