Learn to ride Grande Prairie Transit with a free Transit Discovery Tour on September 16 or 18.

Each session includes two parts: an indoor learning session to learn the basics of using Grande Prairie Transit and a guided bus tour to put those skills into practice. Along the way, participants will also explore community services featured in the Passport to Grande Prairie and collect Passport stamps as part of the experience.

Date: Wednesday, September 16 and Friday, September 18, 2026.

Time:

• September 16 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
• September 18 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
• Location: Grande Prairie Public Library, 9839 103 Avenue.
• Cost: Free.

Transit Learning

• Learn the basics of using Grande Prairie Transit, including fares, passes, transfers, requesting stops, trip planning and accessibility features.
• Learn how the Town Centre Mall Transit Hub works.
• Ask questions and get practical tips for using transit.
• Enjoy light snacks and beverages and a chance to win door prizes.

Guided Bus Tour & Passport to Grande Prairie

• Ride a Grande Prairie Transit bus and put what you’ve learned into practice.
• Discover organizations and services featured in Passport to Grande Prairie.
• Hear directly from community organizations at stops along the route.
• Collect Passport stamps at participating stops while learning more about resources available in Grande Prairie.

The Transit Discovery Tour is designed for residents who are new to Grande Prairie Transit and those would like to feel more comfortable using the system, particularly newcomers, youth and seniors. The experience starts and finishes at the Grande Prairie Public Library.
