The City of Grande Prairie’s City Council establishes their vision and direction for the organization through the approval of a strategic plan.
In addition, the 2019-2022 Strategic Plan will be used to directly support a new Priority Based Budgeting process for future budgeting cycles beginning in 2019.
The 2019-2022 Strategic Plan identifies Council’s priorities (Objectives) and definitions (Results) for Council to measure the organization’s activities against, as well as, the Corporate Objectives in place to support Council’s priorities.
Council’s Strategic Plan includes the following components:
Council’s forward looking statement that establishes the goal of the organization.
“Grande Prairie is a vibrant, connected and inclusive community with a resourceful spirit.
We leverage diversity and seize our growing opportunities by embracing challenges.”
The statement that Council will weigh all decisions before them through.
Environmental, Financial and Social.
Council has established six priorities for the organization: Community, Economy, Service, Infrastructure, Safety and Governance.
Council has included a statement to explain what they mean through the selection of each priority.
Council have established a series of definitions that they will use to measure the organization’s alignment and success with implementing measures that align with their priorities.
