The City of Grande Prairie has partnered with ARC Resources Inc. to offer free Friday skates at the Dave Barr Community Centre. The first free skate takes place on Friday, September 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

All free skates will take place on 2022/2023 PD days as follows:

• 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.: October 21, December 9, February 10, March 10 and March 17
• 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.: January 6
• 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.: December 30

Pre-registration for ARC Resources free public skates is available on the City’s online booking portal. Walk-in availability is based on first-come first-served for any remaining open spots during the free skating time.

The partnership is a three-year agreement for ice seasons until September 2025. This type of sponsorship provides accessible recreation and wellness opportunities for all community members.
