Delegations

The Grande Prairie Public School Division presented to City Council as a delegation to express their support for an indoor recreation facility in the Avondale neighbourhood.

Troy Smith presented to City Council to express concerns regarding the City bylaw that regulates the use of school bus flashing lights and arms. City Council directed administration to engage with school boards to identify any recommended changes to enhance school bus safety within the City and report back to the appropriate standing committee.

Free Transit for Youth

Council approved free transit for all youth ages 6 to 17, and directed administration to prepare amendments to the Fees, Rates and Charges Bylaw to reflect these changes.

Recreation Facility Funding

City Council approved in principle funding of up to $10 million from debentures for an indoor recreation facility.

Municipal Police Service Reserve

City Council approved amendments to Policy 346, being a policy to establish a municipal police service reserve.

BIA Tax Rate

City Council approved the Downtown Business Improvement Area Business Tax Rate (2023) Bylaw. This is an annual bylaw that sets the levy rate for the Business Improvement Area.

Fees and Charges Bylaw

Council approved amendments to the Fees, Rates, and Charges Bylaw. Public Hearing

Council gave two readings to Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-165.
