Delegations

  • The Grande Prairie Chamber of Commerce provided an update to Council on the Regional Workforce Development Committee. City Council received the letter for information, with consideration that the funding request has already been submitted to budget deliberations.
  • Nitehawk presented to City Council to request an increase in funding of $19,000 to support ongoing operations. City Council referred the request to budget deliberations.
  • The Grande Prairie Cricket Association presented to City Council to request infrastructure upgrades to the public cricket pitch. City Council directed administration to work with the association to better understand their needs, assist in a site plan, identify potential locations, and report back to the appropriate standing committee.

Public Member Appointment

City Council appointed Dan Lemieux to the Grande Prairie Public Library Board. He replaces Arlen Miller as a City representative on the board.

Correspondence

Grande Prairie City Council received an introduction letter from the new Minister of Municipal Affairs, the Honourable Rebecca Schulz. City Council received the letter for information.

Public Hearing for Rezoning

City Council amended the Land Use Bylaw to rezone a parcel of land located at 10101 105 Avenue from Residential Transition District to Director Control District.

The change permits the development of an 8-unit apartment building within walking distance of downtown.
